West Coast USA: San Diego, Laughlin & the Grand Canyon

We headed down to San Diego for the day whilst based at Buena Park in Los Angeles. It was nearing Halloween so the locals had the day of the dead decorations up which were amazing! If you are thinking of heading there anytime I would definitely recommend visiting the Old Town towards late October.

The following day we went on to stay in a small town called Laughlin in Nevada, which was situated along the Colorado river. It was kind of like a mini-Vegas which was a nice place to stay for a base to head out to the Grand Canyon and Route 66, but I wouldn't stay there again. In fact the only thing to do there besides gamble was to walk down the Colorado river, which is what we did at sunset one night only to be attacked by hundreds of gnats (yuck!), so as you can imagine we headed back to the hotel rather quickly and decided to catch up on the baseball instead! The next day we headed to the Grand Canyon, which as you can imagine was absolutely incredible and a once in a lifetime experience but I would love to go back and explore a different part of the canyon!

Thanks for reading!
