Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

For my birthday this year I was lucky enough to get the Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium perfume as one of my gifts from Andy. I have been desperate to purchase this perfume for a while but y'know when you just can't afford to treat yourself, yep thats been me for a couple of weeks now.
I have never tried out a YSL product before so as you can imagine I eagerly ripped off the packaging to have a little sniff. The packaging is a bit touch and go for me, I think it looks a bit like an aftershave due to the dark colours that have been used on it, but I do love the addition of the black glitter as it adds a slight bit of femininity to the product. The scent of the perfume is quite strong, dark and luxurious with top notes of black coffee, heart notes of white florals and base notes of vanilla; this is not what I would usually go for in a perfume but I quite like it for those colder wintery months of the year. One or two sprays of this perfume are enough as it can become slightly overpowering if you go too overboard. I found that the perfume lasts for about 4/5 hours which makes it really great value for money.
I think I will definitely be repurchasing this little gem in the future as the scent is quite bad ass with its dark seductive tones (ooh lala), it lasts for hours and its not too overpowering which is great!
It gets a 10 from Len! (yep... I do love a bit of Strictly, obviously i'm a total bad ass!)

The 30ml bottle which is featured in this post can be picked up for around £45, so it is pricey but so worth it!

Thanks for reading!

  2. I've been looking for a new perfume for a while and this sounds lovely! I like scents with hints of vanilla in it, so this sounds like a scent I would love. I'm with you on the packaging, it does look a bit masculine but the bottle itself is really pretty! :)
