Exploring London

A couple of weeks ago Andy and I went on a little city break to London. We had both never been before so we were pretty excited to head down south and explore for a couple of days. We stayed at the Travelodge Royal Scot which was a pretty basic room but in a central location, which is ideal if you're out all day and just need a place to sleep.
We arrived in London at about 1pm which was ideal as we got to have a wander after we were all checked it. Our first day of exploring led us to Oxford Street and of course the new Lush store in which I picked up some lovely goodies. The second day was extremely tiring as we decided to avoid public transport and walk everywhere, yep that meant we walked more than 10 miles (in Primark ballerina shoes!) which as you can guess absolutely destroyed my poor little feet. However, we did get to see pretty much everything we wanted to see visiting the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Picadilly Circus and of course Buckingham Palace, but didn't get the chance to visit Trafalgar Square (which means that we need another trip back to London in the future!). The final day was spent hobbling to and from a Boots store to get ice packs for my swollen foot, but we did spend the night eating takeaway pizza in the hotel room and watching the mentalist which is our perfect night in!I really enjoyed the little break away, it was for our anniversary and will probably be the last break away we get in a while with saving for the house.

Have you visited London? What was your favourite place to visit?
